A Night of African American Jewish Culture

Date:
-
Location:
W.T. Young Library Auditorium
Speaker(s) / Presenter(s):
Shais "MaNashtina" Rishon & Giulienne "Shoshana" Rollins-Rishon

Join us for an evening of African American Jewish Culture as we host Shais "MaNishtana" Rishon and Giulienne "Shoshana" Rollins-Rishon in honor of Black History Month. Explore how two diverse cultures with their own unique traditions meld into one experience that is both uniquely singular and beautifully universal. MaNashtina will perform his monologue, "MaNashtina Muses," which tells the story of growing up Black, Orthodox, and Jewish and will lead a Q&A with the audience afterward. Shoshana will present "Twice Removed," which is a talk focusing on biracial identity and the conundrum of being a part of both, but accepted by neither. We look forward to hearing from these gifted speakers and hope to see you there.
