Yogita Goyal: Runaway Genres: The Global Afterlives of Slavery,

Date:
Location:
Zoom

Yogita Goyal (African American Studies and English, UCLA), author of Runaway Genres: The Global Afterlives of Slavery, will be joining us for a zoom event on Friday 14 May, 3:30-5:30PM.  Runaway Genres won the Perkins Award, from the Narrative Society, and was runner-up for the Lowell Prize, the top book prize awarded by the Modern Language Association.  We hope you will join us.

We would like to distribute copies of Professor Goyal's book for this event.  She will ask participants to read two chapters of the monograph in preparation for discussion.  After an informal presentation of about 20 minutes, we plan to open the floor for questions and comments.

Please RSVP by Wednesday 31 March to pjkall2@uky.edu so that the book order can be processed.

Funding for this event generously provided by the program of African American and Africana Studies and the Commonwealth Institute of Black Studies.
